We are Sitara and Laura, two Global Health research master’s students from the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam. As part of our master’s program, we are spending 3.5 months doing an internship in Sri Lanka with NICST. During this period, we will be joining existing projects to learn about building sustainable systems for training, research and healthcare improvement. Follow our journey as we get to know the team, their fantastic collaborators and the projects they help support.

We created this page to share our experiences doing research with NICST in a LMIC setting. We hope to be able to give an impression of the challenges and advantages of doing Global Health research.
